Sharjah Art Foundation announced the recipients of the Sharjah Biennial 15 Prize on 7 February at the opening night gala dinner and awards ceremony of Sharjah Biennial 15: Thinking Historically in the Present in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation.
Sharjah Art Foundation collaborated with leading European institutions on three major exhibitions that opened last autumn.

Winning projects receive a total of 30,000 USD in addition to publishing and distribution support
Sharjah Film Platform also awards 200,000 AED to the winner of the Pitching Forum, an open call feature scriptwriting competition at the film festival
The iconic Sharjah landmark is among 20 shortlisted projects for the 15th cycle of the award.
Currently, several works from the collections are on view at various institutions worldwide, including a selection of paintings, collages and photographs from the iconic Khartoum School, a Sudanese art movement that began in the early 1960s.
Presenting new works and commissions across various venues in the emirate, the Biennial will take place from 7 February to 11 June 2023
The stories collected through this research will both contribute to a deeper understanding of Sharjah’s past while helping to preserve this knowledge for the future.
Tarek Atoui’s exhibition Cycles in 11 centered around experimental and innovative musical forms and offered audiences opportunities to learn about and explore instrument-making, compositional structure and musical collaboration.
