Ceramics (Advanced)
Ages: 15+

Dates: Mondays to Thursdays, 8 May –25 June
Timings: 10:00 am–12:00 pm or 5:00 pm–7:00 pm
Location: Al Madam Art Centre, Al Hamriyah Art Centre, Dibba Al Hisn Art Centre, Kalba Art Centre, Khorfakkan Art Centre

Experiment with different approaches to glazing and firing ceramics. Learn the process of drying works before the first firing (bisque fire) as well as the firing techniques and temperatures suitable for each type of clay. Also gain an understanding of different glazing techniques (brushing, pouring, dipping, spraying) and the use of underglazes and overglazes. Finally, learn about the second firing, done after glazing, to complete all the steps for a finished ceramic work.
