About Full Special Studio

Full Special Studio is an independent print platform that champions local and regional creatives. The platform produces beautiful and functional printed products for individuals, businesses and institutions using the Risograph, a sustainable alternative to traditional printing methods. Originating in 1980s Japan, the stencil-duplication technology uses organic inks developed from soybean and rice bran oils along with master stencil sheets made from banana leaves. This eco-friendly process results in minimal biodegradable waste.

Celebrating its roots in the UAE, Full Special Studio embodies expressions unique to the Emirates and evokes local cultural staples. The managing director, Finn Murray-Jones, has been in the UAE since 2014. An NYUAD art and art history graduate, Murray-Jones brings extensive professional experience to the platform, drawing on his work with Gulf Photo Plus and Tashkeel.

Diego Mendoza, the creative lead, holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar and an MA in Educational Leadership from Framingham State University in the US. With a rich background in the cultural and educational sectors across various countries, Mendoza contributes significant printmaking expertise and a vast professional network.
