Sharjah Art Foundation President and Director Hoor Al Qasimi joins a panel that includes Sharjah Biennial 11 Curator Yuko Hasegawa and Biennial participants, Brazilian Artist Ernesto Neto and Belgian Architectural practice OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Moderated by MoMA PS1 Curator Peter Eleey, the panel will explore the concepts behind the upcoming Biennial and the new site specific projects proposed by the artist and architects.

Inspired by the courtyard in Islamic architecture, Sharjah Biennial 11 Curator Yuko Hasegawa proposes a new cultural cartography that reconsiders the relationships between the Arab world, Asia, the Far East, through North Africa and Latin America. Designated by UNESCO as the Arab Cultural Capital in 1998, the Emirate of Sharjah has presented the internationally recognised Sharjah Biennial since 1993.
