Movement sketch
Workshops for Children and Families

Have you tried sketching while moving? Does it sound like a difficult task? In this workshop, participants will be moving, walking and running while they sketch. This different approach to sketching should lead to unexpected, funny results in participants’ sketchbooks.


Charcoal studio
Workshops for Children and Families

Date: Tuesday, 5 July 2022
Timings: 11:00 am–1:00 pm

This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of charcoal drawing. They will learn about charcoal as a medium for drawing, and develop an understanding of balance and composition. At the end of the workshop, participants will choose an object as their subject to create a still life charcoal drawing.


No-brush painting
Workshops for Children and Families

Date: Thursday, 7 July 2022
Timings: 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Location: Collections Building, Arts Square
Ages: 6–10
Languages: English and Arabic



In this workshop, participants will be painting using a technique called ‘no-brush painting’. They will express themselves with acrylic paint and a canvas while using daily objects as their drawing tool instead of a brush. Participants will be using various objects, such as toothpicks and paper clips, as their drawing tool.
