Overview

How can large-scale exhibitions contribute new scholarship on a particular history, discipline or practice? And what can exhibitions, their space and their time, uniquely offer that other forms of inquiry cannot? Chong presents on his 2012 Museum of Modern Art exhibition, which examined the formation of contemporary art in Tokyo in relation to the development of the city and nation.
