Bring a Character to Life
With Hassan Al Moussawi
Ages 15–18
Date: Saturday and Sunday, 10–11 February 2024
Timings: 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Location: The Flying Saucer, Dasman, Sharjah
Languages: English and Arabic
In the first session, discuss what writers do to make their characters interesting (e.g. describing their personalities, formative experiences, aspirations), and create a character based on a prop. Write a brief backstory, including important traits and emotions, for the character you are developing.
In the second session, work in pairs or small groups to improvise and act out a scenario (e.g. you are at a magical circus, you are in space). Take on the role of the character you created in the first session.
