This workshop is inspired by the work of artist Reem Falaknaz, who is taking part in the March Project 2016 artist residency. Participants will explore the spice shops in the Old Souq area by themselves to learn about the different kinds and colours of spices as well as the countries where the spices originated and the uses of each spice. Then participants will create their own abstract paintings using spices.
In this workshop, participants will collect different natural objects they find in the Urban Garden and then use them to make portraits. This workshop will teach participants the possibility of transforming any natural object into an artwork.
