Looking for a place to play cricket? Now open to the public, Sharjah Art Foundation’s cricket field in Al Mureijah Square welcomes anyone interested in practicing or playing the game—from teams and schools to individual members of the community. Book your slot, and enjoy your time.
The opening of the cricket field reactivates Gary Simmons’ artwork Across the Chalk Line (2015), designed in the form of a junior-sized cricket oval. The public art project, part of the Foundation’s long-running and sustained commitment to the community, was created for Sharjah Biennial 12: The Past, the Present, the Possible (2015).
