My Name is Khan follows Rizwan Khan, a Muslim man with Asperger’s syndrome, and his struggles in the United States following the 9/11 attacks. After being mistakenly detained by authorities, Khan embarks on a cross-country journey in a bid to meet the President of the United States and clear his name.

About Film Wala

Film Wala is an initiative that celebrates the diverse backgrounds and languages of Sharjah Art Foundation staff members and neighbourhood residents through hand-picked film screenings. Foundation staff members are invited to nominate some of their favourite films. The selected films focus on themes of nostalgia, home and popular culture.

The film My Name is Khan will be screened in Arts Square opposite Sharjah Art Museum, the scene of many commissioned art works and performances as well as a popular location for children’s games and family walks.

This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required.
