Workshop Description

In this interactive workshop with Melissa Gronlund, Art Correspondent for The National, participants will address questions of how to write about art and will have an opportunity to explore different approaches to, and venues for, art writing, from magazines, journals and newspapers to blogs and catalogue essays. They will learn the ins and outs of writing and structuring an art review, and will be given a writing exercise after a walk-through of Ala Younis’ exhibition, to put their skills to the test, with an opportunity for feedback and discussion after.

This workshop is designed for emerging art writers who focus on visual culture as well as artists, art critics, curators, journalists, art professionals and educators who are interested in learning more about the subject.
