Overview

Sharjah Biennial 15 (SB15) commissioned artists Marìa Magdalena Campos-Pons and Coco Fusco as well as Biennial participating artist Kambui Olujimi will join Sharjah Art Foundation Director and SB15 Curator Hoor Al Qasimi for a panel discussion at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, on 22 June 2022.

The discussion will reflect on the themes of the Biennial, as originally conceived by the late Okwui Enwezor and offer insight into the work of the three presenting artists. Al Qasimi will also talk about the scale of the Biennial, its 30-year history and some of the more than 16 sites across the Emirate of Sharjah that will be used as venues.

Taking place from 7 February to 11 June 2023, Sharjah Biennial 15: Thinking Historically in the Present, will feature works by more than 150 artists, including never-before-seen works and commissions. To mark Sharjah Biennial’s 30-year anniversary, the Foundation has commissioned 30 artists to embark on major new works that explore histories which continue to shape our present.
