Photo portraits
Workshop for Children and Families
Date: Sunday, 14 August 2022
Timings: 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Location: Collections Building, Arts Square
Ages: 6–10
Languages: English and Arabic
Participants will portray themselves by applying paint over an A3 printed photo of themselves in light brush strokes. This process will encourage the young participants to become more familiar with their facial features.
Writing stories
Workshop for Children and Families
Date: Tuesday, 16 August 2022
Timings: 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Location: Collections Building, Arts Square
Ages: 6–10
Languages: English and Arabic
Participants will be reading a short story to develop a better understanding of writing a story,
they will then write their own stories. This workshop will teach participants the basic skills of storytelling so that they can use their creativity and imagination to write stories.
Story/character illustration
Workshop for Children and Families
Date: Thursday, 18 August 2022
Timings: 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Location: Collections Building, Arts Square
Ages: 6–10
Languages: English and Arabic
In this workshop, participants will be creating characters and illustrations from the stories they wrote in the previous session. With the guidance of a books illustrator, participants will learn how to build an image for their character.
