Synopsis

In parallel narratives, the sequel to The Godfather introduces audiences to the world of Vito Corleone before the events in the first film and also follows his son Michael as he struggles to bring the family into the modern age. In the film's extended flashback sequences, young Vito leaves Sicily and gains power in the New York City Mafia of the 1920s, while in 1958 his son Michael expands and tightens his grip on his crime syndicate stretching from Lake Tahoe, Nevada to pre-revolutionary Cuba.
