Zeinab Alhashemi's subject matter often grows out of the cultural traditions of the United Arab Emirates, in particular, Emirati crafts. Collaborating with local artisans, she redesigns and transforms their objects into her own unique artworks. Alhashemi has exhibited extensively in the UAE, and in 2012 she participated in the residency programme organised by Delfina Foundation, London, UK, in partnership with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Tashkeel, Dubai.
