Biography

His research-based practice also includes printmaking, photography and publications which have been shown in installations alongside his films in solo exhibitions including APRÈS, Centre Pompidou, Paris (2017); The Music of Ramón Raquello and his Orchestra, Witte de With, Rotterdam (2017); The Secession Sessions, Berkeley Art Museum, San Francisco (2015) FRMAEOWRK, Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany (2014); The Secession Sessions, Bergen Kunsthall, Norway (2014); Now_Then_Here_Elsewhere, Beirut Art Center, Lebanon (2013) and Eric Baudelaire, Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2010).

Selected group exhibitions include Yokohama Triennale, Japan (2014); SeMA Biennale Mediacity, Seoul (2014); Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (2014); Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, Japan (2013); Taipei Biennial, Taiwan (2012) and Berlin Documentary Forum 2 (2012).

His recent feature films Letters to Max (2014), The Ugly One (2013) and The Anabasis of May and Fusako Shigenobu, Masao Adachi and 27 Years without Images (2011) were selected at film festivals including FIDMarseille, Locarno, Toronto, New York and Rotterdam.

Eric Baudelaire’s feature film Letters to Max was screened in Sharjah Art Foundation’s Mirage City Cinema during the 2014 March Meeting.

His work is included in the collections of MACBA, Barcelona; the Centre Pompidou, Paris, Reina Sofia Museum; Museum of Modern Art, New York and The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
