Biography
Mohammed Hafiz is the Co-Founder of Athr Gallery and the CEO of Al-Sawani Group, a fashion and lifestyle retail company in Saudi Arabia. Noting the lack of representation of Saudi artists in regional and international contemporary art presentations, he supported the first Edge of Arabia show in London in 2008. He went on to open Athr Gallery in Jeddah with Hamza Serafi, in order to support and present Saudi contemporary art internationally. Hafiz is on the board of Directors of Dar Al-Fikr School, is a board member of Endeavor Saudi Arabia, an international charity organisation that helps entrepreneurial initiatives and is the Vice Chairman of the Saudi Art Council, an initiative that supports Saudi art in Saudi Arabia and internationally. He lives and works in Jeddah.
