City Language III is the third part of a video trilogy conceived as an experimental sound portrait of Istanbul. In this installment, the hands of many different people clapping are edited together to create a single, unified rhythm.

Born in Turkey, Nevin Aladağ moved with her family to Germany in 1973. Her study of sculpture heightened her sense of the limits and boundaries of objects and the identity of forms.
Fragments of hand-woven and industrially produced carpets from around the world.
This publication takes as its starting point Yuko Hasegawa’s curatorial concept for Sharjah Biennial 11: Re:Emerge – Towards a New Cultural Cartography and March Meeting 2013.
