Overview

Filled with thousands of commands each second, our brains can no longer be surprised. Everyone runs with a quickening momentum that confuses values and beliefs and the need to cope with the variables of the present and the past. A vortex contains a spread mixture of material and symbolic terms, clashing at times and bonding at others.

The feet do not halt their steps and move in all directions. The foot painted with the coloured shoes of modernity - surrounds us with the thump of its steps, exactly like the hubbub of the city. We do not notice the bare foot, the foot rooted in the earth, we will not hear its ancient pace, calm like the life that we lost long ago on the other side of the city asphalt! We will see how these toes will cleanse the pavements and the street’s remains off the new foot, the worn shoes and the coming time!

The work attempts to create an atmosphere contrasting in terms: what we visually consume on a daily basis, side by side with symbolic terms incapable of materialising – despite our belief in the necessity of their existence – to face the deep struggle within ourselves regarding the exhaustion of our spiritual values by our contemporary material life and the true link to our balanced human roots on this earth.
