Overview

As a documentary photographer and visual storyteller, Rehab Eldalil challenges traditional frameworks of artist-subject relationships by involving those she photographs in the creative process. The Longing Of The Stranger Whose Path Has Been Broken (2018–2022) is a collection of photographs, written content and embroidery as well as multimedia poetry and storytelling produced as part of her process of seeking the meaning of belonging through her exchange with the Bedouin community of St Catherine in South Sinai, Egypt. In collaboration with the Jebeleya tribe, Eldalil also produced a flora field guide documenting native plants, traditional stewardship practices and alternative medicine.
