Overview

Sharjah Art Foundation highlights the unique architecture of heritage house Bait Obaid Al Shamsi with an annual cultural gathering. This December, Bait Al Shamsi Nights offers workshops and excursions focused on visual arts, with sessions taking place from 9 December 2023 to 20 January 2024.

This year’s programme also invites the community to engage more closely with critical explorations of Palestine’s history through learning activities based on communal journaling and investigating archives.

Over seven weeks, participants can join workshops on bookbinding, drawing, sound art, creative writing as well as riso printing in collaboration with Fikra Studio. With a focus on Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, other workshops include researching, documenting and sketching the urban landscape of Sharjah.

Offered in both English and Arabic, all sessions are led by professional artists and art practitioners. The activities are free and materials are provided.

Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible.
