session description

In this three-hour workshop, participating actors will work under the guidance of an instructor to learn how to connect to a scene and make specific, simple and personal choices about how to portray a character.

Actors should select their own scene, preferably from a work written after 1900 (no Shakespeare), and learn their lines in advance. They will also need to send their chosen scene to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) so the instructor can become familiar with it before the workshop.
Actors can choose to perform a monologue or a two-character scene. If the scene has two characters, a reader will read the second character’s part while the actor performs. The instructor will critique each performance and offer suggestions for how the actor can bring out his or her best performance.
