Biography

Omar Abusaada is a Syrian director and playwright. He studied at the High Institute of Dramatic Arts, Damascus and worked as a dramatist before moving into directing. Abusaada co-founded Studio Theatre in Damascus. His works include While I Was Waiting (2016), which premiered at the Kunsten Festival, Brussels; Antigone of Shatila (2014); Intimacy (2013); Syria Trojan Women (2013); Could You Please Look into the Camera? (2012); Look at the Streets...This Is What Hope Looks Like (2011); Almirwad wa Almikhala (2009); Samah (2008), an improvisation work with boys in a juvenile prison; Al Affich (2006); and Insomnia (2004).

This person was part of Sharjah Biennial 13.
