Biography

Amelie Wedel is a Berlin-based curator and researcher. She is currently a member of the research training group Documentary Practices: Excess and Privation at Ruhr-University Bochum, where she writes her PhD dissertation on contemporary ecoaesthetics in experimental documentary film. She has studied art theory and literature at Goldsmiths University, London and Free University, Berlin. In addition to her research on art and critical ecologies, she inquires into resistant forms of studying and working collaboratively through feminist research methods, scores, storytelling, writing, workshops and talks. She is co-founder of topsoil, a transnational curatorial and research collective, and Cala, an independent project space in Berlin. Recent curatorial projects include Reciprocity Muscles and Glücksfütterung, Cala, Berlin; Experimental Pedagogies, SoC, Zurich and Vierte Welt, Berlin; Daring Auralities, Garp Sessions, Babakale; Make it Hot.
