Caline Aoun

Biography

Caline Aoun works within the frames of urbanism, architecture, print and digital advertising space to produce pieces that playfully increase, invert and suspend environmental noise in a series of measured experiments. She invites the audience to consider and question a set of elements that open up to larger notions of hyperconsumerism, excess and saturation.

Aoun is the recipient of the ninth edition of Deutsche Bank’s Artist of the Year Award (2018). She received a bachelor’s degree in fine art from Central Saint Martins, UAL, London (2005) and a postgraduate degree in fine art from the Royal Academy Schools, London (2009). She also earned a Professional Doctorate in Fine Art (DFA) from the University of East London (2012).

She was born in 1983 in Beirut, where she continues to live and work.
