Caline Aoun

Caline Aoun works within the frames of urbanism, architecture, print and digital advertising space to produce pieces that playfully increase, invert and suspend environmental noise in a series of measured experiments. She invites the audience to consider and question a set of elements that open up to larger notions of hyperconsumerism, excess and saturation.

Aoun’s solo and group exhibitions include Untitled, LISTE, Marfa’ Projects Booth, Basel (2017); Kunsthalle3000, Public Space Intervention for the Dalieh Campaign, Beirut (2017); Fields of Space, Marfa’, Beirut (2016); Works on Paper, Intervention in L'Orient Le Jour newspaper, Temporary Art Platform, Beirut (2016); I Spy with My Little Eye…, Casa Arabe, Madrid (2015); Dust, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Warsaw (2015); Concrete Layers, Grey Noise, Dubai (2015); Remote Local, Statements, Art Basel, Grey Noise, Dubai (2015); Stopped Clocks in Places of Busyness, Fold Gallery, London (2013); Observations du Divan Oriental Occidental Multilogue en ArtVideo, Château Mercier, Sierre, Switzerland (2013) and Exposure 2012, Beirut Art Center (2012).

Aoun is the recipient of the ninth edition of Deutsche Bank’s Artist of the Year Award (2018).
