Biography

Dar Yusuf Nasri Jacir for Art and Research is a multifaceted project devoted to educational, cultural and agricultural exchanges and production in Bethlehem and beyond. Founded in 2014, Dar Jacir houses multiple programmes grounded in shared encounters and hospitality. It is the only artist-led space in the southern West Bank that provides arts education and residency programmes, operating across visual arts, sound, cinema, performance, dance, literature and agriculture. Through a participatory approach, collective knowledge is created, new works are produced, and structures for care and repair are fostered. Dar Jacir is a women-led space that fosters cross-cultural and intergenerational exchanges.

Dar Jacir has participated in events at ARCO Madrid (2023); CiMAM Annual Conference, Mallorca (2022); MANIFESTIAMO-Villa Romana, Florence (2022); National College of Art and Design, Dublin (2022); Rethinking Residencies, New York (2021); KORA-Contemporary Arts Center, Castrignano de’ Greci, Italy (2021); and Experimenter Curators’ Hub, Kolkata (2021), among others.
