Biography

Based in Dakar since 2018, Delphine Buysse (b. 1982, Namur) has lived on the African continent for the past 17 years. Part of the 14th Dakar Biennale (2022) curatorial team, she currently serves as the curator of programmes at RAW Material Company. In her curatorial practice, Buysse actively engages with urban spaces and collaborates with community-based initiatives to promote access to contemporary and digital art. Her collaborators include the KIKK Festival in Belgium and institutions such as Ker Thiossane in Dakar. Founder of two programmes supporting emerging artists, she has also taught at Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) where she is pursuing further studies in philosophy and a PhD in sociology of art. Buysse holds a degree in art communication and an MBA in cultural management.
