Biography

Heiba Lamara (b. 1990, London) is Assistant Editor of OOMK Zine and a founding member of Rabbits Road Press, a community focused Risograph studio in East London. She explores independent print and archival practices, primarily zine-making as a methodological and material practice. Her work manifests as zines, publications, oral histories, participatory workshops, digital archives, library interventions, handcrafted objects and garden plans. Through an ecosystem of iterative work placements and training as a gardener, she is exploring the kinship between the library, the archive, the kitchen and the garden as connected sites. She is currently working on an oral history project about North African families who undertook a road trip from Europe to Africa in the 1990s, supported through the Arts Council England’s DYCP grant. She has participated in many book fairs, including Duplicate, Birmingham (2023); Brooklyn Art Book Fair, New York (2023); Books Are Bridges Art Book Fair, Rotterdam (2023); and ASP, London (2023).
