Biography
Artist-researcher Lubnah Ansari (they/she) is concerned with exercises of silence, intimacy and agency in India and the UAE. Ansari (b. 1998, Kofu, Japan) is an alumnus of Art Jameel’s Assembly, Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship and NYU Abu Dhabi's Social Research programme. They are also a recipient of NYUAD’s Research Fellowship, Mophradat Self-Organizations Grants and Alserkal Arts Foundation's Research Grants. Their research interests rest in forming new visual vocabularies that refuse essentialisations and erasures to unknot sociopolitical textures of the Gulf. Ansari lives and works between Abu Dhabi and Jaipur.
