Biography

Sahar Mandour is a writer, journalist and novelist based in Lebanon. She is the author of four novels: Mina (2012), 32 (2010), A Beiruti Love (2009) and I’ll Draw a Star on Vienna’s Forehead (2007). Sahar holds an MA in Media Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London (2015). Her areas of expertise include gender, social movements and cultural production in Lebanon, Egypt and Palestine. Sahar worked as an editor at the newspaper Assafir, Beirut (1998–2017). She is currently the Lebanon and Jordan researcher at Amnesty International.
