Aras Özgün is a media artist and scholar, he studied Political Sciences and Sociology at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara.

Biography

Aras Özgün has an MA in Media Studies and a PhD in Sociology from the New School for Social Research University, New York. He has published articles on politics, media and the arts in various Turkish and English scholarly journals.

As an artist he has made a number of experimental videos, documentaries and multi-media works that have been exhibited in various venues in Turkey, the US, Australia, Egypt, Germany and Britain. He is currently teaching Media Theory and Digital Media at the Media Studies Department of the New School, New York.
