Biography

Ebba Fransén Waldhör is an artist and designer who works in spatial installation and materials research. With a primary focus on textiles, her work combines the use of new technologies and industrial materials with hand craft. She has developed environments and stage designs for artists, writers, choreographers and institutions.

Fransén Waldhör’s work has been exhibited at Centre d'Art Contemporain, Geneva (2018), and she has developed spatial concepts for transmediale, Berlin (2019) and Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2018), among other places. Since 2016, she has created performance installations in collaboration with artist/writer Hannah Black and musician Bonaventure at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; the Chisenhale Gallery, London; and MoMA PS1, New York.

She also works as a design researcher at the Berlin Weissensee Academy of the Arts, where she researches shape memory alloys in fabric and how the properties of these alloys can be applied in an architectural context.

Born in 1984 in Lund, Sweden, Fransén Waldhör lives and works in Berlin.
