Overview

Al-Ani looked to achieve maximum objectivity in her photographs, eliminating as much extraneous information as possible. According to the artist: 'When I classified the photographs into categories that highlight architectural styles(gothic, oriental, traditional) I began to recognise patterns that map the city and its people'.
