Timings and Calendar

Sharjah Biennial 15 takes place over 124 days, from 7 February to 11 June 2023.

Timings
Sharjah Biennial 15 venues:
Saturday to Thursday: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Friday: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm

The Biennial will remain open to visitors during the Eid Al Fitr holiday from 20 to 24 April.

Ramadan Timings

Sharjah Biennial 15 venues:
Saturday to Thursday: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
Friday: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Sharjah Art Museum, Al Hisn, and Sharjah Calligraphy Museum are open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday to Thursday, and from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Friday. These venues will be closed during the evening for the last 10 days of Ramadan.

The Biennial will remain open to visitors during the Eid Al Fitr holiday from 20 to 24 April.

The Biennial exhibition is free and open to the public.

Cities and Venues

The Biennial takes place in the city of Sharjah and across the Emirate in the municipalities of Al Hamriyah, Al Dhaid, Kalba and Khorfakkan. All sites that are part of the Biennial are located within a two-hour radius by car from the city of Sharjah.
Venues of the Biennial are composed of the Foundation’s permanent structures, those of its sister organisations and structures which are being repurposed and activated for artists’ works as part of the Biennial.

Itinerary

The Foundation recommends a four- to five-day visit to see the artworks included in the Biennial.
To see the exhibited works in Sharjah city as well as in Al Hamriyah, which is a 30 or 40-minute drive from Sharjah city, approximately two to three days are needed. Al Dhaid is a 45-minute drive from Sharjah city centre. Khorfakkan and Kalba are both on the East Coast and about 30 minutes apart. It takes an hour and 30 minutes to reach the East Coast from Sharjah city centre.

Free shuttles depart from Al Mureijah Square in Sharjah at 2:00 pm every Sunday. (Bus 1: Al Hamriyah and Al Dhaid. Bus 2: Kalba and Khorfakkan.)
