Overview

Sharjah Art Foundation organises talks and training sessions to help those who work with people with disabilities to understand different types of physical, learning and developmental difficulties and become familiar with effective ways to offer support. Activities vary from training in particular disabilities and ways to work with people who have them to discussions about the experiences of people with disabilities and related social and environmental issues.

Winter 2020

The Winter 2020 Talks and Training Programme for People with Disabilities includes a training session about hearing impairment and sign language and a talk to commemorate World Down Syndrome Day.

• Autumn 2019

The Autumn 2019 Education Programme for People with Disabilities, scheduled from 21 September to 21 November, includes a wide range of educational offerings for individuals with physical, learning and developmental difficulties. The workshops are designed to help people with disabilities aged 3 and above to discover new ways of self-expression through art. All workshops are facilitated by experienced professionals, and sessions are conducted in English and Arabic, according to the needs of the participants.

Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes as inclusive and accessible as possible. Disability access symbols are included in all Education Programme descriptions to indicate the accessibility of individual sessions.
