Overview

A selection of films from the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection will be screened online in parallel with the Unsettled Objects exhibition. Featuring new acquisitions and rarely seen works from the Foundation's Collection, Unsettled Objects brings together the work of 35 artists from across the globe whose art helps us to consider how we can re-think the ways objects of art are looked at and understood.

In these selected films, the artists explore histories of conflict and trauma as well as the arbitrary concept of being a migrant in and of itself. Often relying on memory, the filmmakers tell stories that seek to rupture what is widely assumed about a place or its experiences, creating instead complex universes for new forms of imagination to emerge.

The screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the directors of the films, accessible through the individual film links.
