Event Description

Sharjah Art Foundation screens Memory from the Peabody Award-winning television series Art in the Twenty First Century.

This film is part of PBS Art21, Inc., a non-profit contemporary art organisation serving artists, students, teachers and the general public.

Film to be followed by talk with participating artists of Vantage Point Sharjah.

Whether critical, irreverent, or introspective, the artists in “Memory” delve into personal memory and the past, transforming them in their work. The artists wrestle with complex topics such as the veracity of history, the nature of interpretation, subjective versus objective truth, and the ways in which objects and images from the past embody cultural memory.
