Biography
Le Trio Joubran was formed by three brothers from Palestine who are descended from four generations of oud makers and players. Samir, Wissam and Adnan Joubran have transformed this instrument into a passion, a skill, a life. Along with master percussionist Youssef Hbeisch, they have performed their singular harmonies for audiences worldwide.
Le Trio Joubran has received awards for a number of film scores, including the Best Music Award, Dubai International Film Festival (2009), and Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique, Cannes (2009), for Adieu Gary (2008) as well as the Best Music Award, Dubai International Film Festival (2012), for The Last Friday (2011). Among the Trio’s other awards are the Artistic Creativity Award, Arab Thought Foundation, Beirut (2013); Order of Merit and Excellence, Palestinian National Authority, Ramallah (2013); and Zyriab Award of Virtuosity, International Lute Festival, UNESCO, Tetouan (2016).
