Sharjah Biennial director and Sharjah Art Foundation president and director Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi has been announced as the new president of the International Biennial Association (IBA) in an appointment that will transfer IBA headquarters to Sharjah.

The fourth edition of the March Project residency exhibition will open on Saturday 30 September 2017 at 6 pm. The opening tour and reception will be followed by a screening of the film Only Men Go to the Grave by Emirati director Abdulla Al Kaabi at 8 pm.

Sharjah Art Foundation presents Selections: Summer 2017, an exhibition of works from its growing collection. Works by Niveen Aladag, Rasheed Araeen, Fouad El Koury, Iman Issa and Sara Rahbar are presented in Al Mureijah Square in Galleries 4, 5 and 6.

During Sharjah Biennial 13: Tamawuj Act I opening, Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) announced the recipients of the Sharjah Biennial Prize.

Taking place from January 2016 to January 2018, Sharjah Biennial 13: Tamawuj (SB13) encompasses exhibitions, projects and education programmes in five locations, expanding the structure of the previous Sharjah biennials across space and time.
