Overview

Sharjah Art Foundation’s Programme for Children and Families includes courses, workshops and excursions conducted by professional artists working in a broad range of visual and performing arts. Designed for participants aged 6 to 15, the programme explores different art forms and encourages creative expression.

Workshops and courses are held at Foundation spaces in the city of Sharjah and at six Art Centres across the emirate. The Art Centres are located in Al Hamriyah, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Dibba Al Hisn, Khorfakkan and Kalba.

Workshops are free and open to public. All materials are provided by the Foundation.

Current Programme

Summer Programme 2024

6 July–22 August 2024

Activate your creative talents in our exciting summer workshops and courses, running from 6 July to 22 August 2024.

Scheduled throughout July, the workshops are inspired by our exhibition Drawing Time: Duets, which explores drawing practices and the concept of the double or pair through works in a variety of mediums. You will be able to experiment with comics, collage, ceramics and drawing on photographs.

Taking place in August, the four week-long courses go deep into specialised art forms. Here you can develop skills in painting, drawing, puppetry and jewellery making.

Connect with other participants ages 6 to 15 and their family members as you learn from professional artists working in a broad range of visual arts. Offered in English and/or Arabic, depending on participant needs, the sessions are conducted in The Flying Saucer, Dasman, and the Collections Building, Arts Square, both in the city of Sharjah.

Please note that for any session identified as a Family Workshop, young participants must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
