Sharjah Art Foundation’s Programme for Children and Families includes courses, workshops and excursions conducted by professional artists working in a broad range of visual and performing arts. Designed for participants aged 6 to 15, the programme explores different art forms and encourages creative expression.
Workshops and courses are held at Foundation spaces in the city of Sharjah and at six Art Centres across the emirate. The Art Centres are located in Al Hamriyah, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Dibba Al Hisn, Khorfakkan and Kalba.
In the city of Sharjah, workshops for two different age groups (6 to 10 years and 11 to 15 years) usually take place on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Collections Building in Arts Square. Courses are generally held twice weekly—on Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm—at the Foundation’s Al Mureijah Art Spaces in Al Mureijah Square. Sessions are conducted in both English and Arabic, depending on the needs of the participants.
Workshops and courses at the Art Centres take place throughout the week, with both morning and afternoon sessions. Some courses last a number of weeks, and the age groups vary. Sessions are conducted in Arabic.
